Rebecca Louise Antoinette Breuer (1972) lectures visual culture, media
literacy, narrativity and film history at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. She
mastered in Philosophy - concentrating on art and culture in the texts of Kant,
Schopenhauer and Nietzsche - at the University
of Amsterdam and holds a
Bachelor of Arts and Teaching from the Utrecht School of Arts.
Rebecca is involved in structuring the renewed course in Fashion and
Branding at Amfi, and currently preparing a research programme about visual strategies
in fashion marketing for the Knowledge
Circle. Since she's the daughter of an Australian
mother and a Dutch father, she's interested in an international view on
fashion, it's environments and strategies. During her research assignment for
the Knowledge Circle
she will thus concentrate on the critical reading of marketing images and
possibilities in an objective and global context. Within the research programme
- that will be conducted in cooperation with Amfi students - she aims at
providing a solid advise for sound marketing strategies for future fashion
communications.
